Greenery…
One of the best ways to calm your mind is to look at greenery. Green is a color which will immediately produce an immense feeling of peace and delight. Meditation…
The first step for improving your mental health is by improving your powers of concentration. When you are present totally in your ‘present’ then you wouldn’t have time to think about your past or your future. Most of the depressions and mental stress is only because people forget about their present. Yes, it is of course tough to survive certain shocks and tragedies in life. But, like always, if you start watching your thoughts and develop the skill of observing your actions and thoughts, you can easily mold your attitude. All this can be started out with simple concentration, the first result of effective Meditation.
The simplest way to meditate is to close your eyes and concentrate on the darkness. All your thoughts will pass by your mind. Don’t get disturbed by them. At first you might not be able to ignore your thoughts; but then you can. You will just feel the thoughts passing, but you will stop reacting to those thoughts. This is the first positive step; it means that you are doing it right!! The deeper stage in meditation is thoughtlessness. In Yoga, the suggested way to start meditating is by looking at a candle flame in a dark room.
Mental health…
You might think that physical health is something you can improve anytime. The only thing you need to have to gain physical fitness is the willingness to work out. Yes, it is true. But I can also say that mental health is something quite similar. If you are willing to get into a good state of mind, it is pretty easy for you to attain a good spirited health. The key to good mental health is to identify things which make you happy and things that make you sad. So once you spot them, you will obviously know what to do.
Like I said earlier, once you turn conscious of what is happening to you, you can automatically find a way out of any troubled situation. Just like swimming!! If you start panicking, then that will be the end of all your efforts. Every situation has a positive effect. So spot that positive effect and focus on it!! Rather than fretting about the hardships, concentrate on what should happen and what you need to do. Your psychologist may suggest you with anything; but the first step should be taken by you. Your will is the key factor for mental health.
